Fitz Center For Leadership in Community
The 3rd Annual Imagining Community Symposium is a space for community partners across the Miami Valley to come together in a space of education, dialogue and action. The symposium is free and open to all community members, activists, artists, students, scholars and academics with the goal of exploring the history, legacy and impact of injustice in Dayton, and strategies for moving toward a more just, equitable and inclusive Dayton.
Educating Leaders. Building Community.
As a Marianist and Catholic university, we are called to more than service. We are called to learning. We are called to leadership. We are called to justice. We are called to build community. The University of Dayton Fitz Center for Leadership in Community cultivates servant leaders and just communities through reciprocal partnerships, engaged learning and scholarship, and community building.

The University of Dayton Rivers Institute and River Stewards, programs of the Fitz Center for Leadership in Community, were invited to participate in the first-ever camp out on the Great Miami River. Our hosts from the City of Troy, Troy Foundation, Miami County Parks, and SmithFly created an experience like no other and hope to replicate for other groups in the future, as a way to connect people to the river and activate their beautiful riverfront Treasure Island Park.
